About

Mile High Hook and Ladder was founded in Denver in 1984 by a dedicated group of truck enthusiasts who share a deep admiration for vintage fire engines. What started as a small gathering has grown into a thriving organization with 50 members spanning the Front Range, from Loveland to Black Forest. Our members not only appreciate the beauty of these antique fire trucks but also honor the legacy and service of the firefighters who once operated them.

Our collection of over 40 antique fire trucks is a living tribute to firefighting history. Each truck tells a unique story of bravery, dedication, and the evolving technology of fire service. We take pride in preserving and sharing these vehicles with the public, showcasing them at parades and events throughout the Denver area, especially during the warmer months.

As a non-profit organization since 2011, Mile High Hook and Ladder has committed to fostering a sense of community and education around firefighting history. Our monthly meetings cover a wide range of fire and emergency-related topics, providing an engaging space for members to connect and learn. These gatherings are more than just a hobby—they are a way to keep the history of firefighting alive.

One of the highlights of our year is the annual Fire Muster, a family-friendly event that draws enthusiasts of all ages. Held in collaboration with South Metro Fire Rescue, this event brings together our community to enjoy a day filled with fire truck displays, educational exhibits, and hands-on activities. We are proud to be part of an event that brings joy to families while honoring the bravery and service of firefighters past and present.
